Editorial Internship
Guernica is now accepting applications for our summer editorial internship program (June through August, 2013). Interns’ involvement with the magazine spans all stages of the production cycle. Primary responsibilities include copyediting, fact-checking, web production, transcribing interviews, and occasional special projects. Interns also handle the magazine’s social media presence, build our article archive, and help out with special events. Writing for the magazine (Guernica Daily in particular) is encouraged. Interns work ten to fifteen hours per week (remotely for the most part) and are expected to attend editorial meetings, held on alternate Thursday evenings in NYC. Internships are unpaid; however, they may be used for academic credit.

Fundraising/Special Projects Internship
Guernica seeks an energetic and focused Fundraising and Special Projects Intern to support the Publishing team. Duties include assisting with membership outreach and cultivation, fundraising initiatives (donor tracking, individual giving campaigns, institutional giving research), special events (such as monthly salons and fundraisers) and selected special projects as they arise. Other administrative duties are assigned as needed. Intern will be expected to work ten to twelve hours per week. This position is unpaid; however, it may be used for academic credit.
Advertising and Marketing Internship
Guernica seeks an Advertising and Marketing Intern to support the Publishing team. Duties include assisting with planning social media campaigns, tracking analytics, conducting market research, supporting relationships with current partners, and assisting with building relationships with new advertisers. Other small duties as assigned. Intern will be expected to work ten to twelve hours per week. This position is unpaid; however, it may be used for academic credit.
Branding and Design Internship
Guernica seeks a Branding and Design Intern to support the Publishing team. Duties include: conceptualizing and designing flyers, advertisements, invitations and other marketing graphics; developing a strong brand strategy for the magazine; assisting with image-heavy social media (e.g. Instagram). Other small duties as assigned. Intern will be expected to work ten to twelve hours per week. This position is unpaid; however, it may be used for academic credit.

Guernica is an award-winning magazine published twice monthly by an all-volunteer staff. We give equal weight to reportage, polemic, and criticism of domestic and international affairs alongside first-person narrative, fiction, poetry, and visual art from established and emerging artists and authors.
