Dan Hernandez is a writer based in Tucson, AZ. He earned an MFA in fiction at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas and later served as managing editor of Witness Magazine and as a senior editor at Central Recovery Press. He won the Richard J. Margolis Award in 2015 as a promising new writer whose work shows concern with social justice. His nonfiction can be found in the New York Times, the Guardian, Vice, and other publications. His fiction has appeared in Catapult, Carve, The Offing, and Day One.
